Hard Problems, AlphaFold, and a Minor in Biology
For over 50 years, protein folding was one of science's hardest unsolved problems. AlphaFold changed that. This essay explores what that breakthrough reveals about AI's potential to make the impossible possible.
Coding Is Evolving Into Something Else Entirely
The medium of coding has always evolved. We are now at a point where it evolves into something else entirely β and that changes who gets to build.
Core Frameworks
Three mental models I apply daily. Click to explore each one in depth.
Signal-to-Noise Ratio
"Our attention is limited, so we have to be selective about what we let in and what we put out. I'm careful about what I consumeβif it's not essential, I skip it. And when I'm building, I'd rather create a few things that are really great than a bunch of things that are just okay."
In Practice
I have ideas for dozens of apps and games, and if I had infinite time I'd build them all.
I filter for the projects I truly care about. I discard the 'good' ideas to make room for the 'great' ones, applying the 'Input/Output' filter to my own creativity.
Every project on this site made it past the filter. I'm not just building things β I'm building things that solve a real problem.

The Library
I'm always reading a book. Nowadays they're mostly about innovation, tech, and growth, but I used to be a big fiction lover back in the day.
As Jim Rohn once said "Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary."
