Building a community where students from all majors can learn, explore, and grow together in the age of AI.
Semester One: What We Built
In our first semester we wanted to start strong — and so we did. We decided to be authentic. To be different. To trust our own gut and intuition, trying to bring something new to the game.
We planned meetings, secured partnerships, developed projects, deployed marketing strategies, and most importantly — we built a community.
A community of people from different backgrounds and fields of expertise, who all shared the same desire to learn, create, help each other, and move forward together.
That’s exactly what I envisioned when I first came up with the idea for the AI Society — a space where anyone, regardless of major or background, could learn, create, and grow together as one community.

Semester Two: Expanding the Vision
Kicking off the new semester by sharing what we're building with students across Adelphi University.

We created the AI Society with the goal of providing a space for people to explore this technology in creative and innovative ways, and it's so rewarding to see that effort bear fruit.
This semester we have a full lineup of events, hackathons, and workshops, specifically designed to spark critical thinking.

Our first event of the semester — when students, professors, and administrators filled the room to capacity.

The Purpose — Fall 2026
Before people started coming in, I told my friend I believed the turnout was going to be the best we'd ever had. It was our first meeting, so the odds were low, but I still believed.
However, as time went by and only a few people started to show up, I started to have my doubts. It was still early, but I told my friend, “we'll make it happen next time.”
And then, all of a sudden, the room started to fill up. Existing members, people who came for the first time, professors, admin—everyone was coming in and grabbing a seat. Within minutes the room was packed, and by the time we started, there were so many people we ran out of chairs.
And THIS is why we created the AI Society. To give people the opportunity to not only explore this technology, but to openly share their thoughts and opinions.
This debate sparked a lot of amazing thoughts, some questions were answered, and new ones came up. But one thing is certain: we all had the chance to think critically about them, and in doing so, advance our understanding of this technology.
I'm so grateful to everyone who contributed to this event, and to everyone who attended. You made this a very special start to the semester.
Beyond the Debate
A look at some of the other events we've hosted this semester — workshops that put tools in people's hands and conversations that opened doors.
The debate was just the beginning. This semester, we've been running events designed to give people real skills and real perspective — from building apps from scratch to hearing directly from founders who started exactly where our members are now.
We taught people how to vibe-code their own apps and took them through the entire pipeline — from conceiving a strong idea, to crafting it into a real application, to writing carefully curated prompts that produce exactly the results you want, all the way through to publishing.
By the end, people walked out with apps they actually built themselves.
We brought in an Adelphi alum who, after working at an AI company, decided to start his own startup. He shared his journey from student to founder — the challenges, the pivots, the breakthroughs, and incredible insights into navigating that road.
Hearing someone who walked this campus talk about building a company reminded everyone that the distance between where you are and where you want to be is shorter than you think.
No one should be left behind
The Spark
We noticed something: when we mentioned we were starting an AI club, everyone got excited — they all loved the idea. The truth is, most people are eager to learn, explore, and participate in this amazing field. They just needed a space to do it.
The Mission
The goal is that any student, regardless of their major, gets the opportunity to explore artificial intelligence and get comfortable with it, so that no one is left behind in one of the most exciting periods in history.
The Culture
We noticed there was no AI community on campus, and because we understand how important this technology is for humanity, we decided to create a space where everyone can learn and grow together. This wasn't just about building a club — it was about building a culture.

AI gives anyone the ability to build. At our events, people create real things — apps, websites, tools — genuinely impressive projects, all in the same room, helping each other along the way.

Beyond what we build, it's the room we create that matters most. People connecting, laughing, helping each other — a platform where creativity, innovation, and community are let loose.
